Broadband modelling of Orphan gamma ray flares

چکیده

Blazars, a class of highly variable active galactic nuclei, sometimes exhibit Orphan γ-ray flares. These flares having high flux only in energies do not show significant variations at lower energies. We study the temporal and spectral profile these detail from three γ−ray bright blazars, 3C 273, PKS 1510-089 279 also their simultaneous broadband emissions. find that variability timescales were (0.96±0.28) days, (3.12±2.40) hr (2.16±0.72) hr, for 279, respectively. The energy distributions (SEDs) during have been modelled with leptonic model two emission regions. This suggests might originated inverse Compton scattering relativistic electrons by seed photons broad-line region or dusty torus, which is first region. While second broader region, lying further down jet, could be responsible X-ray radio possible locations regions jets sources estimated SED modelling.

Flares in Gamma Ray Bursts

The flare activity that is observed in GRBs soon after the prompt emission with the XRT (0.3-10 KeV) instrument on board of the Swift satellite is leading to important clues in relation to the physical characteristics of the mechanism generating the emission of energy in Gamma Ray Bursts. We will briefly refer to the results obtained with the recent analysis [1] and [2] and discuss the prelimin...

“orphan” Γ-ray Flares and Stationary Sheaths of Blazar Jets

Blazars exhibit flares across the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Many γ-ray flares are highly correlated with flares detected at longer wavelengths; however, a small subset appears to occur in isolation, with little or no correlated variability at longer wavelengths. These “orphan” γ-ray flares challenge current models of blazar variability, most of which are unable to reproduce this type of ...

Gamma-Ray Bursts from Extragalactic Magnetar Flares

The prototype for events that we call MFs—“March Fifth” events or “Magnetar Flares”—was observed on March 5, 1979. There is evidence that MFs are powered by catastrophic magnetic instabilities in ultra-magnetized neutron stars. These events begin with brief (∆t ∼ 0.1–1 s), intense, hard spikes of gamma rays, probably emitted in concurrence with relativistic outflows; followed by long (t ∼ 100 s...

Giant Flares as Mini Gamma Ray Bursts

On December 27, 2004, practically all gamma-ray satellites were saturated by a giant flare from SGR1806−20 (Borkowski et al. 2004; Hurley et al. 2004; Mazets et al. 2004). This giant flare was strong enough to affect our ionosphere (Campbell et al. 2005) and for its reflection from the moon to be detected (Golenetskii et al. 2004). It was followed by an extremely bright radio afterglow, with an...

X - Ray Flares of Gamma - Ray Bursts : Quakes of Solid

We propose a star-quake model to understand X-ray flares of both long and short Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) in a solid quark star regime. Two kinds of central engines for GRBs are available if pulsar-like stars are actually (solid) quark stars, i.e., the SNE-type GRBs and the SGR-type GRBs. It is found that a quark star could be solidified about 10 to 10 s later after its birth if the critical temp...
